EVEN NEWER UPDATE (November 2021): I'm officially no longer accepting any comments at all & have disabled comments within the blog (even though that function doesn't automatically work on some older posts, which need to be manually closed whenever I come across them).
NEWER UPDATE (August 2021): In general, comments will no longer be published on this blog.
If you wish to leave a comment (like a correction, just to say hi, your thoughts for my eyes only & email seems like to much trouble, etc.), all the below standards still apply.
Meaning, I still delete (probably without reading) comments with lashon hara, foul words in any language, links that my filter anyway doesn't let me access, unwarranted nastiness, and so on.
However, sometimes I still might publish a comment if it possesses necessary merit. For example, if it corrects a factual issue in the post or adds important information lacking in the post or asks a vital question not answered in the post.
I don't promise to publish in those situations, but because if it helps the reader, I might publish such a comment.
If you interested in why I closed down the comment section, please see this post:

UPDATE (April 2020): Comments containing links to YouTube won't usually be published. With my new filter, I cannot check the videos. And even when it's the video of, say, a tzaddik, the column of recommended videos to the side almost always contain inappropriate images & heresy
UPDATE (10/18): While I can often get to the computer on Fridays, I usually don't get to it after Shabbat until Sunday noon or later. This means there could be an annoyingly long lag between the time you make a comment and between the time it appears (particularly if you place a comment on Friday after I've already checked the blog and your comment only appears 48 hours later).
If I'm in the middle of another project or two, that can also cause a lag in comment approval.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience and just wanted to let you know what's going on and why.

I'm sure there is no need to say the following, but clear boundaries are always nice and I want your comment to be published, not deleted.
So just for kicks, here's the policy:
And please:
And please think twice before commenting when you're too tired, too unwell, or too mad to think straight. Me, too.
Thank you!
So just for kicks, here's the policy:
- Please use some kind of name, even if it's just an alias.
And please:
- No lashon hara.
- Be very careful how you refer to other groups of Jews who, though different than your group, fully keep Torah & mitzvot.
- And especially regarding talmidei chachamim (even if you follow another opinion or group): No disrespectful language allowed.
- No heresy (including trolling under the guise of a sincere questioner with seemingly innocent inquiries like: "But how can we really KNOW that we aren't all sitting on the back of a giant cosmic turtle? If everything is in the Torah, then why doesn't it mention giant cosmic turtles ANYWHERE?")
- No missionary stuff or any kind of proselytizing.
- No insults (including frum insults like "erev rav" or "apikorses" or "koifer" or "am ha'aretz," etc.).
- No profanity (including Yiddish terms).
- NEW: No links to YouTube. (Please see above for explanation.)
And please think twice before commenting when you're too tired, too unwell, or too mad to think straight. Me, too.
